Web accessibility has been the hot topic this past semester as schools nationwide race to meet the Department of Justice’s updated Title II mandate. At Eastern, we are also making accessibility a priority–not just for compliance, but for our students. This past Spring, the CTLT launched a series of Lunch and Learn sessions and our Brightspace accessibility checklist. We’ve also been busy helping you remediate existing courses. September 24, 2025 Sue Yavor will guide you through the essentials of Brightspace and Grade Center, helping you set up, manage, and simplify your course grading. This session will give you the tools and confidence to move from Brightspace beginner to Grade Hero in no time.

When you open your course, you may notice that the course landing page has a bunch of widgets. This guide will walk you through what they are and how to use them.

Organize projects, create/manage categories, customize enrollments, assign resources, and enhance collaboration using Brightspace Groups.

Brightspace's Classlist lets instructors manage rosters, email students, add TAs, track progress, and support success with accommodations.

This session covers how to copy courses and videos in Brightspace from one semester to another without unnecessarily duplicating items.
